Saturday was supposed to be our day off, but we decided to go to another camp nearby. It was really different from Oinofyta, more people, more conflicts, less conditions, and less organized, but the greatest difference I noticed was again, the philosophy of it, they had lots of volunteers (thankfully) working a lot but no involvement of the refugees in the work or in the decisions. That`s my favorite thing about Oinofyta camp and the thing that motivates me the most, the "don't give the fish, teach how to catch one" way of thinking that is creating such a nice place over the camp, full of resources and conditions.

Sábado era suposto ser o nosso dia de folga mas decidimos ir a outro campo nas redondezas. Foi totalmente diferente de Oinofyta, mais pessoas, mais conflitos, menos condições, menos organização, mas a diferença que mais notei foi novamente a filosofia, lá tinham muitos voluntários (e ainda bem!) que trabalham imenso mas sem qualquer tipo de envolvimento dos refugiados, não só no trabalho mas também nas decisões. É a minha particularidade preferida do campo de Oinofyta, e o que me motiva mais estando aqui a trabalhar, a perspectiva de "não dar os peixes, ensinar a pescar" que cria um bom espírito no campo, e um campo cheio de recursos e condições.
